Idk why but when I heard "I can't believe we're still the same", it got me really sad knowing that I'm still the same cynical, self-destructing and bitter person. I interpret it as someone who's talking to themself, thus the usage of "we". And the fact that this song is supposed to be happy and feel-good, yet I perceived it as a downer negative one, really checks out. But I think that's the beauty of music.
