Namjoon has gotta be up there with one of the most talented writers of this musical generation of artists, his lyrics translated are beautiful in themselves but they’re even more beautiful and poetic in Korean, where the meaning is fully present. He’s like one of VERY few people who can beautifully write poetry type lyrics in 3 languages, Korean, English, and Japanese.

No official lyric was released for this project so the lyrics are transcribed
In Tokyo ive seen a variety of translations like-1.a. It could be torso
b. It could be torn soul
c. It could be tourist so
2.a Life is a word sometimes you cannot say
b. life is a wave sometimes you cannot see
Its so meaningful and deep in every way it's crazy and i also think joonie purposely pronounced this way

The lyric ash is a thing that someday we all should be. I take it as we all gonna die someday. RM is not from Seoul. He came to Seoul for music, but he is from Ilsan, so he has a love-hate relationship with Seoul. This album is somewhat melancholy but beautiful. Moonchild is my favorite off this album.

Mono is like that old friend to whom you return very often, in a variety of moods and for varied reasons; doesn't matter how long it's been but you pick up the threads immediately. We've weathered some dark times together and I will never be able to fully articulate how much it means. This goes for much of Suga's solo work too, but we're here to celebrate our "Prince of Ilsan".

Seeing reactions like yours remind me of how spoiled ARMY is, that we are given these kinds of gifts from BTS. They are just so generous with their artistry and releasing gems like these FOR FREE? I know we don't care about the awards shows anymore, but this is one project that deserves every recognition, for just how genius and amazing it is, regardless of the language barrier. Another reason why I will forever be a fan.

To me, RM's albums most closely reflects that unique thread of healing that I feel in BTS's projects. It makes it clear that hes the main songwriter of the group because you hear the DNA of his writing and perspective in his stuff and BTS's stuff so clearly. It's wonderful how the music feels like a pat on the head and a kind word when your heart needs it most. It's impossible for me to pic a fave BTS album or solo project. When I'm in need of gentle comfort though, I turn to RM's music most often. When im in need of sunshiney confort I turn to Hope World and when I want to listen to something a bit dark and angsty for comfort I go to Yoongi's stuff and Jack In The Box. The Astronaut still makes me cry but its great for missing Jin hours. All of them have a time and place for me. I could go on and on.

I was thinking recently about the differences between mono and Indigo. For me, mono has always felt like when you’re in a dark room, someone coming in and sitting with you quietly so that you know you’re not alone. Not trying to change you, make you smile, fix your problems, etc. Just sitting in comforting harmony, waiting for you to decide yourself when it’s time to feel better and leave that room.
Indigo picks up where mono leaves off, when you leave that room. It recognizes how effed up the world is and how sad, lonely, and confusing life can be, but then it takes you by the hand, reminds you how big the world is, and encourages you to LIVE.
I 💯 believe RM will be remembered as one of, if not THE most significant songwriters of his generation. As you said, his ability to capture/reflect such a depth of emotion is just awe-inspiring. 💜

mono is not just a mixtape, it's a feeling in itself. it's like a warm hug when you're feeling down - and i used to be one of those people who didn't quite understand what others meant when they said they listened to mono when they felt upset, but now i do. everythingoes in particular means a lot to me. joon accomplished something with this mixtape that any artist would be proud of, and even though he has said more recently that he doesn't relate to mono anymore, it encapsulates the emotion perfectly and it will forever remain important to a whole lot of people, including myself.
