I really enjoyed this horror-like take on Godzilla. I'd love to see more films in the Monsterverse with this kind of tone in the future but I think they're pretty committed to the more lighthearted, action-film approach now.

Sad scene, him being slowly killed. Have always loved the fact Brody saved Godzilla. So lucky he had the initiative to destroy the enemy stronghold and thereby getting the female MUTO's attention.
I so hope that when the Monsterverse ends the final scene will be Godzilla with other titans and more importantly, Earths military united beside him, heading towards a threat, no longer a lone warrior.

The way Godzilla kills the female muto in the end is insane and very graphic but it’s still very cool. This is the only reason I watch Godzilla movies and I can’t wait for Godzilla X Kong 😎
