All I can think about is my friends birthday party. We were running around and playing at night. Then we sat on the roof and watched the sun rise. Now we're in a worldwide pandemic and it feels like I'm never getting times like that back

LYRICS If things were different, we were young Skinny dipping, having fun, I remember Back in 1991, when the story first begun, I remember (I remember) All of these shelves, holding the things I've done I knew myself before I knew anyone And cause we all chew gum, we all have fun with water guns La da da da da da, da da dum dum dum And we all grew up, shit got tough Shit just wasn't simple enough And whenever the sun came out, we played (We didn't want to get older, we didn't want to get older) We would run on the block all night and day (We didn't want to get older) What a mistake, saying the way I felt I say my name influences myself And cause I started young, I learned it done, I didn't run La da da da da da I was scared as fuck and out of touch, and I was still testing my luck, oh And whenever the sun came out, we played (We didn't want to get older, we didn't want to get older) We would run on the block all night and day (We didn't want to get older, we didn't want to get older) And whenever the sun came out, we played (We didn't want to get older, we didn't want to get older) I left myself in the alleyway If things were different, we were young Skinny dipping, having fun, I remember (I left myself in the alleyway) All I wanted would become everything I ever loved, I remember (I left myself in the alleyway)

I’m high right now and I remember listening to this album when I was in my junior year of high school. I remember that year I was at my highest peak in terms of happiness. Everything felt so right; new people coming into my life, being excited for the future, discovering new music, feeling happy about myself including everything around me, finally getting over someone that didn’t deserve me because she lead me on, and having several crushes on new girls. This album was perfect along with the self titled 1975 album too!!! 2014 was the year that I was at my highest peak and It felt so good looking back at those times. Btw, R.I.P. Bryce, everytime I listen to The Neighbourhood i always get reminded of you; we may not have been close friends, only acquaintances but I feel for your lost and how beloved you are. You and my brother will get along up there.

This song makes me sad because it reminds me of my entire life and it makes me cry because it is to true. It is crazy that somebody sings something so relatable. This song is very very good. I listen to it every day.
