Before I give my opinion, I'm prefacing this that I've been a LANY fan since 2016/2017. Since Kinda.
This album is not LANY's best.
This is not the LANY I want.
I get they wanted to try something new, go in a new direction, but this just does not sound like LANY.
To me, a core part of LANY is it's synths, it's pad, it's synth solos, and I felt that was missing in this album.
I think the songwriting is great as always, PJK's voice is great as always, but this album is a misfire and I hope they redirect with their next album.
You! is the worst LANY song. I'm sorry. It's boring as hell, it's so vanilla, it's not LANY at it's best.
It hurts me to say this as a die hard LANY fan, but here we are.
