If you start signing,
“All done,” when she finishes a chore/task, would that eventually override her saying, “I need a break?” She is amazing and so are you guys. I have an autistic young lady who “works” for me, she is such a HUGE help! I have learned so much from watching your channel. I have started doing life skills with her and she feels so big when she accomplishes a new task. She gets so excited and has to show/tell everyone. She is 32, with a very limited vocabulary. She can put 2-3 words together (sometimes) and most of the time she can answer a yes or no question. Other times she just repeats the last word you say. Last month, she mastered making a pot of coffee, and we STILL celebrate each morning with her! ❤ She is precious!

you all could have her sign all done when she's finished to help discriminate from a break. could also help her in the long run on days when she's having a hard time with receptive communication and taking a break vs actually being done (if that is even an issue for her) might click more with practice in other scenarios

My 15 yr old granddaughter has a mild case of Turrets Syndrome. Her stems change frequently. Not to long ago I asked her to help me with something and she rolled her eyes. I instantly got on her for her disrespectful behavior and she quickly let me know that it was a new stem. I felt terrible and apologized profusely. I told my daughter what I had done because I really felt awful and she laughed at me & said she pulled one over on me. It wasn’t a “new stem”. 😂😮

I agree with those who think you give yourselves to little credit.
While you may not be able to help every autistic child ABBY is YOUR CHILD
and no one knows her or can help her like her Family !!!!
She can handle so many different things now because you guys work so
hard to either help her endure things so the worlds less scary or you know
what to avoid that she just can't tolerate.
Over 2 hrs in a restaurant without it stressing her is HUGE !!!!
Much Love Maas Family !!!!

Not sure y’all give yourselves enough credit for Abbie’s growth. You’ve never stopped giving her every opportunity to continue to learn and grow. Kudos to y’all!
