As a fellow veteran I was really patriotic when joining. But then as the years went on and seeing how the military ran and the rampant racism, sexism, homophobia, etc in it is what gradually ate away and destroyed most of my patriotism. It's very ironic that the most patriotic organization took most of my patriotism.

Like thank you for owning that and being so candid about it. You wanting to be better and openly talking about your part in being sexist is so validating to women who are constantly dismissed or made to feel like its ânot a thing anymoreâ.
So if you ever read this, i think youâre fucking cool for owning that and for choosing to be open about it. Youâre a better person for it and it means literally so much to hear someone own it the way you did, not sugar coated in any way.
