If I were someone in Hyrule, Iād be an incompetent Yiga Clan member posing as a researcher / traveler that ends up accidentally feeding misinformation to everyone. The Yiga just sound like fun -- they can disguise themselves, teleport, never die, and seem to be having a grand olā time plotting the demise of the kingdom without any foreseeable success. Wonderful.

As a game dev you can see a lot of rough corners in BotW, very limited boss mechanics, the cut & paste nature of the shrine dungeons, and dungeon designs that were overwhelmed by their gimmick to the point where they couldn't support pathing, etc. These were all symptoms of a very ambitious new engine that ran long in development and didn't leave them enough time to 'finish' many planned aspects before launch, curtailing their ambitions for the original game.
It's a huge nod to the team that they were able to triage their feature schedule and still create a really compelling world and beautiful game experience in BotW despite the difficulties they faced - and that success set them up for a far more 'finished' project in the form of TotK, where they were able to move ahead with a finished engine and take full advantage of it with one of the most interesting storylines of the series to date as well. Much respect.

I think my favorite part of Link's Awakening exists only because like, a couple dudes wanted to port A Link to The Past to the Gameboy after work hours, and it ended up being like, a small team passion project at least partly inspired by Twin Peaks.

Red not realising that you could actually help the Koroks was exactly the reaction I had to the guy putting up signs.
I thought it was kinda strange that this guy just showed up everywhere trying to put up a sign, and you can tell him to just let go.
Thought maybe it would come up later, took way too long to realise that I was supposed to be helping him.

Link's Awakening was one of my first Zelda games and my god does the music in that game slap. The fact that they made one of the most intricate overworld themes in the entire series for the GAMEBOY ADVANCE absolutely blows my mind
