God, the thing that might annoy me about Velma more than anything else is the writers' insistence that bizarre inside jokes are widely recognized meta commentary. "I've smoked so much people think I'm from NORTHERN California." What? Rich people worship feet? I... what? WHAT? These are inside jokes at best, weird regional humor at worst. It'd be like me, a NHite, making a joke about Mainers being toothless fishfolk and expecting everyone else in the world to get the joke. It demonstrates an insular life divorced from wider reality.

Velma Review of Season 2 the Scooby Doo series on HBO Max. After the first series released no-one thought there would be a second, but HBO Max gave Mindy Kaling the money and so here we are. Once more into the breach dear friends. Velma is doubling down on everything that came before and if it's anything like the first series, will get progressively worse. So strap in.
