I think an important feature that makes most simple buildings look more acceptable would be vertical slabs, because those would allow you to make walls that actually look straight. Only one problem that I can imagine is that you would need two different kinds of vertical slabs: One that cuts through a corner of the hexagon, and one that cuts through the middle of an edge of the hexagon.

I love this game idea so much, and the atmosphere reminds me of the game scrap mechanic. It feels oddly atmospheric, warm, and border-line nostalgic for some reason.

I think you should add a level of detail system, if you haven't already, for bigger planets to save better performance but also get great depth of view with the horizon.

I feel like it could be nice to have distant chunks render at a lower lod so the whole planet can be rendered at once at least on smaller planets Also since the distortion of blocks is bigger with smaller worlds maybe larger planets could have a taller maximum build height

What I want if this ends up in a finished game is a moon you can travel to, just so I can see my planet and my base on it from that awesome flight perspective while playing in whatever survival mode there is. Thinking minecraft here obviously 😅
