The NYC subway E line normally operates from Jamaica Center in Queens to World Trade Center in Manhattan. During rush hours, a handful of E trains operate to and from 179 Street on the F line. They stop at 179 Street, Parsons Blvd/Hillside Avenue, and then Union Turnpike before making regular E train stops. This is done to reduce congestion at Jamaica Center. It also provides 179 Street riders with a one seat ride to Lexington/53rd, which is a major transfer point.
In this clip, a Manhattan-bound E train is operating from 179 Street to Queens Plaza.
