My mom's cancer has come back. It's highly aggressive. I heard about this song through the SDCC Guardians Hall H panel and I haven't been able to stop listening to it, since.
Tell the people you love you love them. Hold them while you can. I'm so grateful to spend time with my mama, and for the music, and for the movies that help define me. Thank you, Flaming Lips. Thank you.

I played this song to my grandfather on his deathbed, my grandfather stormed the beaches of Normandy. I remember I asked him what did war sound like? He said, "it sounded like a song". I played this song for him before he died and he said " YES YES THATS IT THATS WHAT ITS LIKE TO STORM THE BEACHES OF NORMANDY" and then he died. I will never forget that moment. Whenever I hear this song I think of him storming the beaches of Normandy. I realize that he stormed the beaches of Normandy.

Lyrics:
Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face
Do you realize we're floating in space,
Do you realize that happiness makes you cry
Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes, let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Do you realize, oh, oh, oh?
Do you realize that everyone you know
Someday will die?
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes, let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face
Do you realize?

This CD was playing in my car the night I had my first date with my ex. The band in the bar that night also played it...completely random. Thought it was destiny...and it was for six and a half years. We've been divorced 12 years now and I still think of her fondly. Hearing it in Guardians 3 took me back, while sitting there watching the movie with our 15 yr old twin sons.

My dad was a big flaming lips fan. We didn’t get along and eventually stopped talking. He passed in 2021 from brain cancer and this song played at his funeral. He would listen to this song back in the day on repeat and would sing this all the time. A week after his death this song played randomly on my radio as I was sitting there thinking about him.

Played this at my daughter's funeral. We always would sing this together and we would both be sobbing. She was afraid of losing me and i was so scared she was going to leave me. She left. Died from fentynal laced heroin. She always thought she was never good enough. She had a heart of gold. Miss her. This is our song.
