I know this tends to not be high on the rankings for midnights, but this song makes me feel so empowered. If I have the slightest inconvenience in my life, I will blast Vigilante Shit and feel untouchable and unstoppable and for that I love this song! Iâm so glad Taylor wrote this!

I think she uses the word ladies on purpose as a reference to âbeing lady likeâ and âact like a ladyâ that is shoved down our throats from childhood (ladies know what people want) then to âthe ladyâs simply had enoughâ because sheâs sick of placating people.

I could be wrong but I think that the Spotify visual is her performance burlesque moment from the Bejeweled video. It's quite hard to tell because we never see that look close up but the necklace and headband match. I would absolutely love a vigilante shit music video I think it would be so iconic!

VS is also a brilliant reference to Princess Diana's iconic "revenge dress" from 1994 - Taylor wore a very similar dress when she promoted Red TV on Late Nights with Seth Meyers (Easter egg for VS?). The use of "ladies/lady" in the bridge also ties back to Diana.

In fact the phrase: "She needed a cold heart proof, so I gave her some. She had the envelope, where'd you think she got it from?" is quite literal since in the Mad Woman bridge Taylor was the person to say "huh your husband is cheating on you" and that was long before the news confirmed that really Scotter was cheating on his wife. So Taylor really delivered this proof to Yael, but through music, as the queen always does.

I also like how in her last verse she switches from dressing for revenge to I'm on my vigilante shit again. Because being a vigilante is very different from just plotting revenge. Revenge is about a personal vendetta while being a vigilante has the connotation of having a broader impact. Like her re-recording her albums, like her setting an example for how to deal with assholes like those two.

This song is LITERALLY the epitome of destroying everything in my path if you cross me. It's such a Reputation nod, I'm so happy she put this one out. There's something about it that just makes you feel unstoppable, unbeatable, the most untouchable and powerful being on the planet. It's definately a mood on it's own and I get why it may not be a lot of people's favorite but IT'S ICONIC AF! đ¤đđ

I actually get disappointed when people say they don't like this song because "they can't relate to it." It's my #3 on Midnights. I am a shy, introverted, insecure and non-confrontational person. This song is the complete opposite and when I hear it, it brings me confidence, it brings me security within myself. It also plays into the fantasy of wanting revenge on someone without actually doing anything bad.
