I had purchased nearly every APSC Canon Camera from the bottom to the top and finally made my mind up to go Full Frame.

Although the imaging wasn't bad even in the $300 - $900 ASPC Sensor-sized cameras, the imaging that I was wanting wasn't in the APSC category.

I wanted better lighting, deeper color, and finer detail.

Basically, I was hoping for (near) Cinematic Hollywood Quality without breaking the bank...As many people do (lol).

So I did more research! I began researching Full Frame Cameras by Canon.

Of course, my first intention was to spend the least amount of money for a Full Frame.

So that means my eye was on the Canon EOS RP.

Just as I was about to purchase the RP I saw many people saying they didn't like the focus on the RP. So this led me to the next Full Frame Canon Camera just above the EOS RP which was the EOS R. Now while some people may get these two cameras confused because they both say R on the body. The RP does not say RP, It simply says R, but they are different! The price was one way of telling them apart when they were first released because the R was $600 to 800 to $1300 more than the RP

Looking at the specifications one thing stood out immediately and that was the Mega Pixels difference. The EOS R with 30.2MP vs the EOS RP with 26.2MP. Though 26.2MP is still better than many cameras on the market I still preferred the 30.2MP. I actually wanted even higher Mega Pixels than 30.2 which is one reason my eye has always been on the Canon EOS R5 and R5C.

Since the release of the impressive R6 Mark 2 and R8 I am waiting for Canon to release the R5C Mark 2 and R5 Mark 2 models. Until then I'm fine with my EOS R. While the R6 II and R8 did catch my attention I still love my 30.2 Mega Pixel over everything else Canon has to offer except the R5 & R5C. The only thing I dislike about the 45MP R5 is that the R6 comes so close when you see the footage, and I'm assuming the R6 II gives the R5 a real fight with the updated technology and detail. Seeing the R5 & R6 footage side by size really made me just want to keep my EOS R because in some cases I feel the EOS R is so close to the R6 and R5 and oftentimes falls in between the two.

The other thing was the Shutter Speed: 1/4,000s RP vs 1/8,000s R. Though that might not seem like much, it makes a difference in bright sunlight or when using bright lights. Now pertaining to lighting, this is an easy fix. Just use an ND filter. No big deal. But now for motion that extra 1/1,000s could mean smoother video and photo. The average person probably wouldn't even care.

The other difference was the Photo Capturing Fames Per Second: 4-5fps with the RP vs 5-8fps with the R.

People keep saying the EOS R8 is a replacement of the EOS R but I really don't think so. It has all the things we requested and wanted in the R, but the 24.2MP R8 along with other things was just not enough to make me get rid of my EOS R. I do still recommend the R8 to anyone that is serious about video and photography because the R8 is basically the R6 without In Body Image Stabilization (IBIS). That alone If I purchased the R8 it would not be a replacement for my R, it would only be an addition (only) for a few reasons. The R8, R6, & R6II are all very good cameras that I certainly recommend to a serious professional but I am looking for a bit more. The Canon C70 has the exact imaging that I have always imagined in a professional camera, but even still with the C70 there are some things that caused me to lose interest like the smaller sensor size, no photo mode, and a few other things. Therefore My eye is on the R5C II, the R5 II, and possibly a C70 II. If I purchased a C70 I would still need another camera and that's a lot of money to spend on one camera that doesn't do everything you need it to.
