Welcome back, great reaction again. This was the song and video that went viral in 2014 (mainly because of the WTF reactions it gets) and got them a lot of attention outside of Japan ... very handy for their very first trip to Europe and the US not too long after.
This is one of their fun songs (they have many that are deeper and more meaningful). They just want chocolate but are a bit worried about their weight ... but chocolate, it would be so nice and they would be so happy, they worked hard so can they just have a piece of chocolate please?🍫🍫🍫
This video was filmed at their 'Legend 1997' concert in December 2013 celebrating lead singer Su-metal's 16th birthday - she was born in 1997. Yuimetal and Moametal were both still only 14. This was their biggest concert at that time (about 8 - 9,000 people), they were already building a following ... this was 2 or 3 months before they released their first album.

Babymetal are wonderful and unique. Truly not something to miss if you love music. This is the video that put Babymetal on the radar of the west. As such it is from their early years (they were 16,14&14 at the time). I'd like to recommend another cut that is a compilation that has footage from this period right up to 2017 when one of the OG's left due to health reasons. I think it's a great compilation that demonstrates how consistent is the quality of their concerts from one show to the next. They are legendary for their live performances, and it's actually the Foxhole-you'll learn. Syncopation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ11JUZM8V0

BABYMETAL have been joined on stage for this song by members of Korn, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and DragonForce.
Not all at the same time of course. : )
The whole concept of combining JPop music with Metal could have been a disaster, but the quality of the singing, songwriting, choreography and staging take it to another level.
'Gimme Chocolate!!' is definitely one of their "poppier" tracks.
Even so, that blast beat gets you. And the whole thing is about 10x heavier live.
This is the studio track over the live 'LEGEND 1997' concert footage (December 21st, 2013) which celebrated the lead singer's 16th birthday.
That's Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or "Su".)
That was actually the world premiere of this song. Of course the choreography, etc. is already dialed in.
The live concert version sounded great, they could have used that for the video.
This show started off with the "Baby Bones" miming playing instruments, including this song, but the live Kami Band finished the show with a five song encore.
They always have live musicians these days.
To get a better idea of their range, I'd look at one of Su's solo songs.
Let me suggest 'Rondo of Nightmare', an early classic.
This 2014 Budokan Black Night version, with a short instrumental lead-in by the Kami Band, is a great version: https://youtu.be/8WBDiLMNZcE

Welcome back to the Foxhole 🦊🤘🍫
Nice to see you're back with more BM songs, it's been a while.
This is their breakout hit in 2014, for better or worse, either you hated or loved it, this MV got the highest amount of views on their channel, and fans were enjoying this song every night at the World Tour 2023/2024, is a hit they don't wanna miss in almost every live performance, hopefully you'll get the chance to see them live, don't miss out the opportunity to feel this experience.
Dance choreography and metal has never seen before and an important part of this is thanks to Mikiko-Metal (aka Mikiko Mizuno) she's behind another famous Jpop group called Perfume and is very well respected sensei with her own group of dance Eleven Play, she was behind Olympic Games ceremony.
And the mastermind behind this madness is KobaMetal.
This MV isn't actually live version and not even with the usual Kami Band, is studio album version over a live performance which was partially live only on the vocals and choreography with backing track sound. Back in the day, before 2014 mainly, they used to have this backing band called "baby-bones" air playing instruments wearing this skeleton costumes, they didn't have the budget to afford a high level set of real musicians like they have now, so progressively since 2012 they incorporate the real band and leaving the baby-bones behind, they did a great job supporting the girls and giving a show, so shout-out to them for being part of BM story.
This was in December 2013 at SuMetal 16th Birthday, the other girls had 14 yo and there was a big party you have seen nothing yet, wait for "Babymetal Death"
They're just singing about wanting to eat some chocolate but they worried about the weight just like any other regular girl, there's not so much hidden message behind, they used to have fun songs like these without so much deepness on the lyrics just to have fun and party, but the brutal contrast on this is remarkable, no doubt about it.
See you in the mosh'sh pit means go watch Road Of Resistance live in Japan official.
Another suggestion to witness a turning point in their career outside of Japan:
- Ijime Dame Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 official.
Thanks for sharing this and see you next time!🦊🤘🔥
