Politicians should just stop going to Waitangi if they are going to behave like this.

Primary tabs. Contra proferentem is a rule of contract interpretation that states an ambiguous contract term should be construed against the drafter of the contract. The term contra proferentem is derived from a Latin phrase meaning “against the offeror.”

Watching from overseas with much interest. I think alot of First Nations Peoples, everywhere take strength from The Maori People and their ongoing journey to protect their culture and native lands.

Just thank you for recording the events without opinion. Jender Lynch on tv3 is ridiculously biased and it shows blatantly.

Only disrespect i saw was coming from alot of Māori, should of let them speak instead of yelling abuse and singing waiata to drown them out while they were speaking. And yes I'm Māori - Ngāti Porou and Ngāti Kahungunu.

Like Always there are 2 languages and in the Maori address we only get the Maori Language without interpretation. This is the Most Import and Words spoken in New Zealand this year and it's in Maori but I wasn't educated in Maori because in my day I was white. Shame on New Zealand Herald for Adding to the confusion. Clarity between Our People is what Kiwis Need Right Now and every time there isn't Clarity it caused confusion and division. There is ZERO excuse for the New Zealand Herald not to have an Interpreter available for Today

Funny, all this talk of disrepectful behaviour...Denying tino rangatiratanga is disrespectful, undoing the work of those that came before us is disrespectful. How can there be mutual respect when the current government seeks to completely undermine any sense of dignity and respect for tangata whenua?

Why would any body want to go and speak and put their views forward when the screaming rabble was not kept in check... extreme disrespect! Much of the beat up was due to misinformation by the media and the misinformed rabble screamed with shut ears. Chanting so no one else could listen and learn.... absolute disgust. Time to forget Waitangi, and return it to Dominion Day as it used to be in the past... a day FOR ALL NEW ZEALAND.
