7:43 I've been a fan of Battle Angel Alita since high school in the 90s. I painted a picture of Zalem on canvas for art class.

This film is very faithful to its source anime from the 90s so when the dog showed up at 3:38 when I was seeing this in the theaters with my spouse, I squeezed their hand very hard, because I knew that 21:58 would be coming sooner or later.
This film was too long in coming. One of the most badass things to come out of 90s anime, it blew my mind when I read an interview shortly after Titanic where they asked James Cameron what he was doing next, and he mentioned that he'd bought the rights to this story. Said he didn't feel he could do it justice right away, so he wanted to work on a little personal project first as a warm up and as a testbed for the CGI technology he would need. Well, that personal project turned out to be Avatar, and he ended up getting contractually locked into the sequel treadmill, so he tapped probably the only other director who could have handled this right. The anime only tells a fraction of the story that the manga does, so they have a ton of plot they can mine for the sequels.

In the manga, Dr. Ido took care of a cat named Alita. In the original video animation (OVA), Chiren was an original character created as Dr. Ido's wife, and this was also carried over to the live-action adaptation. In the story, Alita was their daughter, but she was unfortunately murdered, leading to a rift in Chiren and Dr. Ido's marriage. Interestingly, in both the manga and the OVA, the title is called Battle Angel: Alita, while the live-action adaptation flipped the name in reverse.

Fun fact: This movie was very close to not getting a sequel. It didn't do well at the box office, critics didn't look at it well, and when Disney bought Fox, it just looked like it was over. And then Cameron made over $2B with Avatar 2 and earned a "Do whatever the flying fuck you want" card from Disney. So now it is getting one.

Thanks for reacting to my favorite under-rated movie, for which I named myself.
I wanted to point out, when she says "and I'm just an insignificant girl", I think she's pointing out to Grewishka what a fool he is. She, the insignificant girl about to destroy him, is giving him a chance to reconsider his attack, though she knows he's incapable of being anything but a bully.
