I think that taylor's character here is the grown up version of the mean cheerleader in you belong with me

Never compare this version and Taylor's Version because both of them did a good job. Both artists give life to this song.

Oh boy, this music video is folklore itself. -High heels on cobblestones -August on the letter -Wisterias -A mad woman -An illicit affair -James cheating

I like both versions of this song, but I think I'm always going to prefer this one more. The vocals here are angrier and more powerful and match the tone of the song better, and it sounds more complete with the harmonies on the chorus, and that last chorus with everyone singing on top of each other! It just sounds SOOOO good!!!! No hate on Taylor's version though.

Damn, this song throws so much reference to folklore: Sugarland is Betty. See 0:34 "High heels on cobble stones.." Taylor is the August girl. See 3:45 "August slipped away.." the letters dated to August. And this song also resonates with 'madwoman' from Sugarland's pov and 'illcit affairs' from Taylor's pov.

I love how the songs have captured both perspectives. This is the perspective of the wife whos given her entire life to him while Taylor's version captures her view of how he probably does not love his wife and really thinks he loves her and they arent going to be cheating. Then she realises that its not true.

She has such a distinctive voice, and paired with Taylor Swift's, it makes for an absolutely stunning song.

I love how the ending shows that no one was happy in the end, just like how it most likely ended in real life

I like both versions. Sugarland's version is more country while Taylor's version is more pop country.

Just realised that the kitchen floor Taylor is sat (not in the video, but in real life), is probably the same kitchen floor where she danced in the refrigerator light in all too well :(((
