My younger brother committed suicide last weekend by overdosing on something. He was found with headphones on, presumably listening to something. This is his youtube account. He made a playlist containing 6 songs that was edited the day he passed. This is one of the 6 songs. With the method he used, he was dead after about 30 minutes, probably unconscious around 12 minutes. I like to think that it was peaceful for him with his music on. I love you Myles, I'll miss you everyday for the rest of my life

I was suicidal once, I chose not to go through with it because I knew that I wanted my life in those moments of pain to end and that I had so much more to look forward to. I was 17. Now I'm 23 and I'm dealing with my pain and trauma. Evanescence's album Fallen has helped me cope and put all of my confused feelings into words.

I love the fact that at 2:50 it's Claire Danes as Juliet Capulet screaming "I long to die" from Romeo and Juliet 1996. It was such a powerful line in the film and the band made a great choice incorporating into this song

This is a very deep song. My interpretation is that it's about a failed suicide, and they're slowly bleeding to death, torn between a desire to die faster and a conflicting desire to be alive, have another chance. They've also apparently lost a loved one, shown by "Will you be on the other side" and a few other lines. All they can do is pray to either die or live again. :(
Suicide sucks guys, don't do it.

Okay why is no one commenting in the beauty of this song . This is so deep and emotional especially for a christian .God really is your salvation and sometime u think u want to die ,can't take anymore but you pray to God to help you after you feel lost and confused. I believe this is what Amy Lee meant when she was singing this song .
Btw even though Evanescence is no longer affiliated with being a Christian band the essence if this song is just memorizing and amazing and really glorifies the message of looking to God.

My teacher asked us to write a journal about our favorite songs... We asked what her own was and she played this... I was the only one to cry super hard because I just connected so much with it
