Megadeth took the stage about 8PM and the crowd went nuts! The energy in the pit front row was thick and I felt like I was back in high school. The moshing started right away and went the entire concert. If you see the camera bounce around a bit thats someone running into me and my son, that went on the whole show. It was mayhem metal at it's finest.
Before the show my son and I went to the VIP event and got the opportunity to ask the band and Dave Mustaine questions, it was an incredible experience. The band was highly engaged and very grateful to the fans that were there, you could tell it was sincere as well!
For almost 40 years, Dave Mustaine has established himself as a metal titan that has influenced generations of metalheads. Even after all this time, he still sounds great live, kicking into gear with their classic “Hanger 18!” I still remember when Rust In Peace (Combat Records) (one of the greatest thrash albums) released in 1990 and became a permanent staple in my music catalog. With James Lomenzo rocking the low end, Kiko Loureiro shredding the fretboard, and Dirk Verbeuren blasting the drums, Mustaine has conjured a masterful lineup to work his magic. With hits such as “Dystopia,” “Trust,” “Sweating Bullets,” “Peace Sells” fans lost their minds as they shouted and sang along. Looking out to the crowd there wasn’t one person not smiling, moshing, singing, or banging their head, having the time of their lives. Megadeth’s set ended on a high note with the forever thrash classic “Holy Wars…The Punishment Due!”

Coming from someone who's been a fan of Megadeth for over 30 years I almost hate to admit that this may be my favorite lineup. Jame's bass tone is ridiculous. Dirk's drumming is insane. Kiko's is a phenomenal guitar player and his stage presence is up there as well. Dave is still Dave and sounding better than he has in years.

Thank you. That’s awesome you take your kids. Trust me. My Stepmom took me to see KISS in 1979. I was 8. And I’m 51 now. And I still love concerts. Many ticket stubs. I thank her to this day. I’ve been jamming Megadeth all day.

I cannot believe how well we hear Lomenzo. Whoever mixed this really had a strong opinion of AJFA! I really, really like Ellefson and didn't care for any of the albums Lomenzo played on, but he kills it at this show and it's great to hear him. Especially on the Ellefson-era songs. Just listen to that Peace Sells!
