Hello again Sir Prize and thank you for more VOB! Written when they were still in their teens, it could be seen as their most "dangerous" song, as it directly speaks out against their government (past and present). ORLA = ORDE LAMA = GOVERNMENT (1945 - 1966) ORBA = ORDE BARU = GOVERNMENT (1966 - 1998). This song contains their speaking out against the Government, which they consider does not provide good legal protection for musicians... Kentut is fart, Merdeka is Free (Freedom) ... In other words, I think for them Freedom (in this issue) is Bullsh*t
Lyrics:
"Reading the Music Bill is like reading ORLA's repression, reading ORBA's stench
Musicians castrated, voices desecrated/humiliated, freedom imprisoned
"It doesn't fit the nation's culture" he says
"It also violates nature" he scolds
Even though we are the children of all nations
Even though we are free to express our opinions
Confusingly the law is designed in a hurry, hesitant, rigid, passionate only to be a tool for satisfying lust.
[chorus]
Fart freedom, freedom is farting
Fart obediently, fart properly
Everything is forced, to hell with the works perishing
As long as the important thing is that it's "proper"
The critical are to be made apathetic
The outspoken are to be restrained, silenced
Thrown on the rotten lame past"
Under the Music Bill (RUU Permusikan), which was being considered by parliament at the time (2019), creators would be โprohibited from including negative influences from foreign cultures or those that demean human dignityโ. Offenders could face fines or jail time. Concerned musicians said the draft legislation was opaque and could be abused to silence political discourse and curb freedom of speech. It didn't pass, mainly due to a huge backlash from musicians and other advocates of free speech.

And in another indication of their fearlessness, they played this song at the Jakarta Fair in 2019 (while riots over the recent Presidential election (the opponent to the incumbent refused to accept the results, sound familiar?) were going on in other parts of the city). The contentious Music Bill hadn't been decided on yet, so before playing the song, Marsya (singer/guitarist) gave a fiery speech about it (and the opening line of the lyrics was posted VERY prominently on the screen behind them when they played)! And Jakarta Fair is a big deal, with millions attending for the month or so that it runs each year! VOB opened ths show with 'Raining Blood.'
