Why do you think people follow/idolize others so much? ⬇️

I've even thought about this before ! Personally, I'm atheist but I cringe when fanatics idolize their stars, I can understand admiring their talent if they sing/act well but too much is too much

I think it’s so weird the way some people literally are obsessed n worship celebrities since I’ve never found myself in that situation I just simply don’t care enough about celebrities since the majority of them ain’t it at all. It messes with your mind😳😩

I come from a Haitian family that was always relaxed and indifferent about celebrities. I was always aware of spirituality because that's how the culture is. My parents chose not to give me any religion but encouraged me to say I'm catholic in public. When I was a kid I was worried about where we're going, and I was aware celebrities' hold on culture is toxic/ Society is not effectively working. Now that I'm an adult and studying to be an occultist, I've become more and more at peace with the idea that we're all living in a cycle. no matter what you believe in, things will resolve themselves. I become less and less depressed about the Injustice in the world (which seems over flowing) and more and more motivated to be helpful to myself and other people. I'm hopeful that people are slowly snapping out of it. If you not hopeful, that's understandable . There were people in every era who felt joyous, connected to the world, and connected it to themselves. Balanced and resilient. Not afraid of the unknown

I also "worship" singers & artists and call them god/queen whatever, but I'm just joking.....I think. Great video.

i love your channel dude, you are literally SO so underrated. You’re a really deep thinker, and your video’s are so well put together. I don’t consider myself to idolize anyone to an extreme extent, I do love Lana a lot though. It’s more of a deep admiration for her artistry and lyrics. i j have a soul connection to her music yk

I think its human nature because it has happened since the beginning of time and continues to happen in pretty much every person. We're kinda just aimlessly hoping as long as we're alive, plus ive noticed when people isolate or have a hatred towards people or everything in general they end up being in prison to say the least, being a human is definitely something..

found your channel through the lana del rey documentary. Really happy I found it! I consider myself a modern day philosopher with the way I think and it's nice to hear what you have to say!!

I am shocked to see how much they believe everything they say and buy things they do not need simply because that person's name is on it.

I get what is being said and in the context and reasoning given I would have to say I agree. The only issue I would have is the basis of your understanding of the ancient Greek gods and goddesses who following an ..... event, became under different names the gods and goddesses of ancient Rome, and then later again as the gods and goddesses of Rome. My issue would not be the originality of what timeline, or the timelines themselves or even the resuse and renaming of the gods and goddesses over the millennia: the issue would be the title of celebrity given to the gods and goddesses. The issue would be in how someone idolize a celebrity today versus how an individual paid homage or gave offering to these ancient gods and goddesses of which we've given the title being an idol. It was the Romans who anthropomorphized these gods and goddesses in their artwork however at that time they would not have been captain places accessible to the public. Meaning they would not have been accessible to the same pedigree of the population who worship celebrities today during the time those statues were created.

Sorry one more comment because I do actually find this topic interesting I would like to just mention something connected to it that I find curious. If we take Britney Spears for instance who is arguably the last mega star of our time (this can only be understood to people who are at least forty years old because they've witnessed the change in celebrity. The kids these days I'd gathered in hundreds of thousands on the internet but they used to do that in real life). Anyways what I find curious in the political science of the US is when the media (and arguably members of a certain Church and the government) successfully broke and legally enslaved Britney Spears back in 2008 the entire myth of America containing some innocence or ambition to dream was gone forever. Again anyone not old enough to know CNN literally followed BS with an army of paparazzi along with every other network instead of following the largest Bank bankruptcy in US history at the time... No matter her cost.... If you didn't witness live on tv my comment will not be understood. But anyways.... It's curious.
