The worst part of this video is that Ally sounds like she doesn't really even understand anything about it herself, which shows to me that a lot of artists are completely in the dark about what they actually agreed to. Reading every single word of your contract before signing it is so, so important

I mean, whoever followed 5H back in the days knows, how fucked up their deal was. Girls barely got any writing credits/opportunities (Dinah and Lauren are only credited on one or two songs on 7/27, and on self-titled all 4 girls don't even have main writing credits, despite being main writers for the album), but all 5 of them were worked to the bone. Looking at it now, I'm not surprised Camila left when she did. And the rest of the girls followed suit when they realized the group is not going to fulfill their needs anymore.

People forget that people who work in Hollywood have a whole team behind them that they have to pay. Agents, managers, lawyers, publicists, stylists, etc all make a percentage off what an artists makes (or they pay these people a flat monthly fee). Why do u think these actors r striking? It's because there's no money in streaming, and artists are not getting their fair share in royalties/residuals.
If each member is getting 5K a month, they probably get half of that after taxes and such. Considering that they had multiple #1 hits and were touring all over the world, I would think anyone would want to be compensated more than 5k a month= $60,000/year. And these girls were superstars! Musicians, start unionizing now!

iâll never forget the video of Lauren literally sobbing to Ally about how they were treated like literal slaves and got NOTHING from it⊠itâs truly heartbreaking.. these girls deserved so much better.
