I'm the person on Reddit who reported the lag when grinding. It happens when there are too many incomplete missions. As you complete them, the lag during grinds goes away. As I mentioned, altering the Options menu does NOTHING in this specific instance. It is the long mission list and that alone. I'm on PS5 and changing City Life, Performance, Physics Animations does not make a difference.

I really think they should hire an experienced Unreal optimization specialist. There's so much you can do to reduce frame drops and stuttering, but many devs don't even have any idea where to start.

I normally play performance mode with the physical animations on and everything else off, including pedestrians, cloud coverage/simulation, and day/night cycle.
When I film I put it on graphics , same settings are off as well and it works perfect for me.
You really see the difference in the replay editor between performance and graphics mode.

One thing that's annoying is that some maps are laggier than others, like SF is my favorite map but seems to be the laggiest but I'll pop into the creature park and it's so smooth

I feel this also helps out PC gamers with low end rigs like myself. I also found vsync to help out alot wit the screen tearing and made the game smoother as well. I use a GeForce gtx 960 2gb and found a way to run the game at 60 fps most of the time.

So I’ve been having this issue with SF and SF only where when I try to use the object dropper it drops frames and gives me an error message on screen. This doesn’t happen in n Philly nor NY. I’m on Xbox Series X.

I play on Xbox one S and find Pedestrians ON Just completely writes off my game and makes it unplayable.
I do like having the skater physical animations on as it makes it look so much more fluid on clips.
I find the most lag I get is when I’m really battling a trick and maybe the repetitive session marker returns has an effect for some reason? I find returning to apartment and the to your spot seems to do the trick though.
Another thing I find is that having an active mission enabled/marked does cause more lag.

I'm on xbox one S and really only turning pedestrians on makes my game lag, I always play with physical animation on, and graphics mode on, and any other wear and tear settings/ etc are on as well, it seems like the most recent small update fixed it even better too because it used to lag after playing for 30-45 min but it doesn't do that anymore

If I play the same map for 30 minutes i get a ton of motion blur and frame rate drops. If I change map it fixes it but it’s annoying

if ur games already lagging and then switch to performance mode it still lags but turning on performance in the beginning it makes the game smoother

Lag or no lag I don't get why you guys want pedestrians on. To me its like inviting a whole elementary class to the skatepark to ride their scooters.

me and my friend had the lag issue when grinding...deleting your skater will fix it since the more missions you have available, the more lag you get

Just some tips for anybody playing on console that I’ve learned playing the past few years.
-turn on performance instead of graphics in the settings
-turn off skater animations/ causes your legs to jitter really bad on the board
- go into the filters on the camera setting and find one that fits your tv there’s about 70 different filters you can change it to to get better quality video and frame rate. All I wanna see is session succeed so any tips I can give you guys to boost the fan base I’ll give. ❤️

1 thing before I start. I’m on Xbox one. Not S, X, or series. Just plain old Xbox One. For me when I played session every now and then I had lag spikes. I never used pedestrians cause the annoying. Which causes some lag. My current settings is performance mode which for me feels so damn smooth like it feels like it’s on pc, I mean sure I get lag, but that’s the Xbox, not as often as JL is having. Plus even with physical animations on, it’s still smooth. I turned a lot of the experimental features off so. If you want a smooth gameplay. Turn on performance if on Xbox one, and turn off city life and you should be good, add physical animations on for extra style

THERE IS A FIX FOR LAG WHILE GRINGING: The lag is caused by having too many unfinished Story Missions in your skater logs. complete the missions and the lag will go away. an alternative way to get the lag to go away if you dont want to complete the missions is to go to the apartment and create a new skater. That will give you a fresh skater so there arent any unfinished story missions.
