FYI in case you were curious about the outcome of your flash pictures. Contax flashes will only fully illuminate focal lengths down to 28mm. Neither the 21mm nor the 16mm will be fully illuminated.

If you use the filter on the 16mm lens, the effective aperture drops by 2 stops to F16 as it is an ND filter that is graduated to leave out the edges where vigneting occurs., although you only get the depth of field for F8. I don't think it is a very good candidate for use with flash, as you do not get full coverage with the flash, and not much flash range as you are effectively shooting at F16. You should be able to set manual focus based on the distance determined by the cameras auto focus system. I think that this lens was more intended for use with a tripod and cable release.

I loved this video and seeing a photographer just taking photos of what they feel compelled by. As for the comments about the flash - I agree, but some of the photos where the flash doesn't completely illuminate the scene actually feels more attractive! (But only knowing how to light within the natural characteristics of the lens *wink*)
