I remember watching the 1985 Shug Avery and being taken in by her beauty and attitude. Then I saw this, and I swear I was speechless. She brought a whole new light on Shug Avery, and OMG that entrance is the best!!! They stuck pretty close to Shugs original dress, but this took it a step further and... wow. I caught myself singing this all day today. Red is a color that commands respect and attention here. OH and to see her walk right past Mister and go right up to Celie was the best end to this scene!!!

And this is why they need to pay Taraji what she’s due cause she completely captivates you. My mouth was wide open during this scene cause I was so shocked by all the talent this woman holds within herself. I love Taraji ❤❤❤
