That reminds me that heād semi-joked years ago that heartbreak is best for the songwriting process. He said if in love, you want to spend your time just being happy, and not analyzing it. The second album, which was also amazing, was clearly written by a man in love, but this album tears your heart out.

All we do to be remembered is futile, a human life is meaningless in a universal scale; and yet we carry the burden of knowing ourselves ephemeral, mortal, of being bearers of entire worlds and philosophies that will be lost to an eternity uncaring of how precious they were to us.

If someone asks me what song I believe shows what itās like to be human itās this one, this song is amazing I have no words. All of us are trying to hold onto our lives but itās slipping from us and wishing for others to hold onto us, not caring if itās gentle like water or hurtful like knifes. Trying to live and survive thinking weāre doing so much, only to realize weāre barely making a scratch and not knowing what weāre truly doing completely in the dark and scrambling. We burning ourselves out on what other people want, some us being forced to be extensions of themselves to accomplish their dreams. We sacrificed so much for nothing but a phantom of a life and itās sharp like an image but hurts like a knife. I canāt with this song itās so human, this is what itās like to be human! God!!

i'm only a casual listener of this guy but i've had this song on repeat for the past day or so ever since i found it while listening through the album and holy shit dude do the chords in this one itch my brain. i know everyones talking about the lyrics but the way this song is composed sonically is a work of art all in itself and i just came here to say that this is awesome and will probably be cementing itself in my psyche permanently. fantastic work, dude, thank you for what you do n keep it up <3
