Shooting a Take Away Show in a street market is always an adventure, especially when everyone is packing up! Katy J Pearson and her brother Rob somehow managed to squeeze their way between piles of fruit crates and hurried merchants. She sings ‘Heigh-ho, who is there?’ while a dreamy intensity emanates from the continuous repetition of the arpeggios. This Paul Giovanni cover - which they reinterpreted with a krautrock twist on record - is slowed down here, bringing it closer to the original. Stripped of the light angst of its studio version, the hauntingly beautiful inflexions of Katy’s voice radiate as never before.

Not an easy "gig" whilst marketers are packing away for the day, but an interesting juxtaposition of the serene & chaotic. Not an easy song to sing either, to sing or play, well done to you both, the guitar work was perfect, didn't hear a dropped note.
Used to busk on Market Day in various towns in Leicestershire in the late 80's, at this time of the day it was pick up the hat & down the pub. There's an odd feeling you get at this time, a bit like after a fair leaves a town. A sense of desolation, emptiness, a deep quiet after all the the people had gone.
