I asked strangers to call someone that they love and tell them that they love them. Some of them called their mom, dad, and siblings, and the reactions were incredible!

From someone who has lost her parents, say I love you, you’ll never know how much you’ll miss them when they are gone, when the possibility of even hearing their voice again is taken away, you’ll wish you’d say it more❤️

In many cultures, we know we love each other, we just don’t say it out

I really really love people say “ I love you” with their parents. I was born in the small village and lack of knowledge about that . I haven’t said “ I love you” with them until they died. And now I have been growing up with no parents and I realized that it’s really valuable to say that to them. I said that words to their tombs but they’re no more.

In an Asian household, it was always the mother who would defend the father telling the children... "ohh your Dad loves you but he just does not know how to show it"

I lost my mom 2 months ago. She died after a month i moved to abroad. One thing i learned from my mom's death is to express love every chance you get. I wish I hugged my mom longer that day i stepped out of the house to go at the airport and move abroad.

This was awesome! Unfortunately, I’m older and both my parents are gone but I have two sisters that I know want/need to hear this. So….this message is for everyone. I watch alot of Chinese dramas and have learned a few words, I cried when I heard the two Chinese students say Dad, I love you (in their native language). SO COOL! Thanks for the post!

2 years ago, cancer took my dad. Nigerian fathers never say "I Love You", the first time my dad told me he loved me and that he was proud of me, that was the moment I knew he was going to die and I also knew he was aware of the fact that he was going to die as he was a medical doctor, so he just had to say it before he dies. He died a week later after that, he was a great dad. I have a daughter now and I made a promise to myself not be be like the "typical Nigerian father". I will make sure I say it to my daughter and my future kids.

This video could not have been more timely for me. The video made me laugh and cry a little several times. Thank you to the interviewees who were generous and shared their calls to mom and dad - especially the girl at the end who understandably was hesitant about the whole thing!

I resonated with a lot of what these people said about their parents. My dad and I didn't really have the closest relationship and I only got to know more about him as he got older and was on his deathbed. My mom, on the other hand, was really close to me and showed love and affection any time she could. I've told them I love them, they've done so much for me and our family. It was good to hear it from my dad, one who didn't express his emotions much, but as he got older he became looser with his emotions. It's just too bad it took so long to hear it so openly. I knew he loved us, but he was a man of action and not words. My parents have both passed away years ago but the one thing I would suggest to people is to express your love for them often. One day they won't be around anymore. Being a parent now, I know and appreciate how much they sacrificed for our family. Those word to them are what pay it back more than anything you can do or get them, they want to know you appreciate them. I think about my dad often because I feel like there were so many wasted years we didn't have that exchange and it's a big regret of mine.

As a person, who had never had problems with his parents, I can say that being on good terms with your parents and saying you love them, are conoletely different things. Despite having built a nice relationship with them, I struggle to say that I love them. I don't know why, but it's hust how it is.

Thank you for having me! I think there are a lot of things about what our parents do that we sometimes overlook. Although I tried to move out a few years ago, I decided to stay because I'm happier being with them than being with friends. While they're still alive, we should find ways to spend more time with them because we have no idea how much that could make them happy :))

For someone who has never told my dad "I love you" as an adult (now 42), this hits home hard. I literally only just said it to my mum 2 weeks ago when she was helping me through some shit I'm dealing with.

I love my mother so much every time I would go to work and come back home I would always kiss her on the cheek. It has been our ongoing thing now and it’s amazing. I should start saying I love her more on a daily basis.

It's crazy that my parents never said I love you to me! And I say it to my kids everyday and they really don't care !
