One of the principles of Buddhism is that everything you have you will  eventually lose so clinging too tightly to anything is the cause of suffering

I gave up all of my vices and am now hooked on self overcoming. To push beyond your physical, emotional, and intellectual boundaries and to look back on the day and confidently say " I never thought I could do something so difficult." There is no high quite like it, it puffs up your chest, hardens your hands, and makes you tenacious. Most of all it makes you grateful and all the joy is much sweeter.

Life is what you make it, you can't choose your circumstances but you can choose how you will react to those circumstances. As much suffering as there is, there is also so much beauty. Don't settle.

Actually, no: what I drew from what he described is that everything passes. Parents are temporary; problems are temporary. Beautiful times pass, as do bad times. Suffering passes. Life passes. I carry in my pocket a stone that might be as old as 3.2 billion years, a nuummite. For perspective.

The song is 'Tu Me Acostumbraste' and our narrator cut it short by 2 lines. Those lines are roughly "Why didn't you teach me how to live without you."

Reminds me of Ecclesiastes in the Bible. All is vanity under the sun.

Great, true message. We strive to escape pain and suffering, but we all will experience these in our own journeys through life. It feels like a twisted blessing, in that as one goes through pain and suffering, something inside ourselves allows us to rise above and to cope, in our own ways, through the situation. It is indeed a challenge to remember everything is temporary, and to try to appreciate the often brief times that true inner peace is reached within ourselves.

What a stunningly beautiful piece. As a journalist let me say how happy I am to see a true...old school..FEATURE. Well done.

That ending shot was brilliant. I'm hooked on your short documentaries. The are made so well and have so much heart. They're one of the reasons I love cinematography and why it can be so powerful.

It's the happy/ beautiful moments of life that many times bring a paradoxical sadness with it, because it's so fleeting and temporary. It's a glimpse into something truly transcendent, truly right, and truly good and then it's gone. A new moment arises.

My grandmother also told me the good thing about bad things, is that they also last as long as good things. Very short.
