Uri Berliner is an NPR business editor who wrote an opinion column recently in which he criticized the organization for having a progressive worldview that often ignores other voices and that damages NPR's credibility.

Berliner has since resigned since this was published.

Scott Blanchard, WITF's Director of Journalism, wrote in our weekly email newsletter, The Purple Buck, about how Berliner's views may reflect on WITF and the challenges of doing credible journalism.

Here's how relevant witf is: I've never, EVER, heard of y'all until now. 😅

"Sure, sure, NPR has 87 liberal Dem editorialists in DC and ZERO moderates or conservatives, but we've got Tony here at WITF...he actually said Israel has a right to exist! So we're middle of the road."

Oh, the Truth hurts.... WITF Management: "All right everybody, today's about backpedaling and equivocating. Let's get to it!"

NPR is FAR from impartial. But so are ALL major networks one way or the other. It's gotten so ridiculous that some can't tell a man from a woman.

Npr is as biased as an organization can get.

There’s no challenge to being a credible journalist, report both sides of a story giving equal time , and keep your opinions to yourself. 🤷‍♀️

When you repeat the Big Lie over and over and over, it becomes------Journalism.

Most journalists just don't do credible journalism, so what's the problem?

This is why people are turning to citizen journalists, like on YouTube, in droves! Of course many of these journalists have a slant, but at least you know what you are getting.

The only challenge is keeping your job if you say something the boss doesn’t like. Like Trump is great.

This was absolutely disingenuous so say that it has "nothing to do with politics" when, as Berliner pointed out, most of NPR journalists are radically left wing and had strong hatred of Trump. So to say it has absolutely nothing to do with politics I think is pretty inaccurate. Also I don't understand why it matters who was "amplifing" the laptop story when the New York Post originally broke the story and they had no reason to believe NYP was lying or being malicious. It seems that NPR and others simply assume that a story that would hurt Biden must always be false which is a political bias.
