mindless self indulgence is like a dog whistle. its only good if you are a teenager who is extremely abnormal about the danganronpa franchise edit: if you liked msi pre-danganronpa, invader zim also works

MSI is a pretty interesting group. Their good songs are BANGERS and every other song is HORRIBLE GARBAGE. There is no in-between.

MSI is as hit or miss as it gets. They can be incredibly catchy, energizing and out-there on their best tracks, and on others it is the most eye-rolling, over-indulgent, self-centred trite thatā€™s ever hit the market. Itā€™s Marilyn Manson and Panic! at the Discoā€™s illegitimate bastard child raised by SOAD and it shows, for better and for worse.

The fucking reaction he had to the fanboy and chumchum theme being near identical to their music was so funny 7:50

it doesnā€™t even seem like brad is mad that he has to listen to it heā€™s more mad at the fact that someone went out of their way to give him $500 to listen to something like THIS

three awful things I learned from this video: - singers surname - the lawsuit - someone put 450$ on this

The Fanboy & Chum Chum comparison is so hilariously accurate, never thought Iā€™d ever be reminded of the show years later lol

Saw these guys open for System of a Down in 2002 or 2003, and they were booed off stage

I have been waiting so long for Brad to react to MSI. I used to listen to them religiously while I was going through a tough transition in my life as a teen. I got really obsessed with Jimmy Urineā€™s stuff from the early to mid 90s during that time as well, I think I liked the more serious stuff from that time rather than the bands more popular stuff. Unfortunately Jimmy is a sick, sick individual and itā€™s ruined this little nugget of teenage hedonism for me, but I still find it cathartic to watch Brad rip into this album.

Brad have you considered mindlessly self indulging in this band?

This album captures the feeling of reading a string of fifteen to twenty DMs on MySpace sent by an abusive boyfriend

I have a weird history with this band. I absolutely hate most of their music but according to my parents I used to be a huge fan as a kid (Iā€™m talking 5-7 years old here). I have no memory of this but even my older brother says itā€™s true so I guess I have that black mark on my soul forever. Edit: my brother wants to add that Never Wanted To Dance is still a banger and I have to agree.

When this album released, I was 25 and recovering from a car wreck that fractured my skull and left me unable to walk or speak. Istg I fell in love with the album and it jacked up my regenerating neurons in ways that cannot be explained. I can't listen to MSI any longer on priciple, but hearing them again tickles my nostalgia. I blame the brain damage.

Love the clinical tone of "He can't get it up, of course, because you are over 18." This is some epic dogshit; thank you for bringing it to us.

My first concert was this mini festival headlined by Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance. When we arrived, Mindless Self Indulgence was taking the stage. So technically, MSI was my first concert.

This band was such an.. odd period in my life. I never got TOO invested into their work, but I always had soft spots for the bigger hits, especially "Straight to Video" and "Shut Me Up". Its practically impossible for me to listen to anything from MSI nowadays, especially given how POORLY some of their tracks (especially in their earlier years) have aged, and with.. well.. what we know about Jimmy Urine these days.
