He did it because he wanted to show he's not only that "serious" actor. Because he always wanted to do comedies, and because he loves Adam Sandler. Also, he did it to show people that he can make fun of himself, that he's not uptight. And even though the movie as a whole was average at best, the bits with Pacino made me cry from laughter. He was amazing in it, as he always is. And I have no idea why people hate on him for doing the movie. For each Pacino fan, it was really fun!

Al Pacino was black mailed to do this movie. Its the only explanation. There is no way the Oscar winning actor who played Lt. Col. Slade in Scent of a Woman agreed to be part of this shit.

Al Pacino has been in comedies. Any movie where he's screaming and yelling Pacino style in many of his movies, like "Scarface", and Glengarry Ross, and Heat.

Part of me wants to see a rifftrax esque "raw commentary" for an entire movie. But then the rest of me wonders how long something like this could go before it got old.
