As a former emo kid who is now 30, I can tell you right now, that 90% of these people on the cringe compilation would be called posers where I'm from, and they would be severely bullied.
When I was 13-16 to be emo you had to be:
1. Attractive
2. Dress well/proper attire
3. Not talk about being sad or how cool it is to cut even if we did or not we wouldn't talk about it.
4. Always have good dye Job. Period!
