That late birthday treat sounds delightful! NHS management can say what they like, but to ensure same sex wards and the right to be cared for by a health practitioner of the same sex, they will HAVE to get rid of TRAs and LARPers on the staff. These people do not care about facts and are quite comfortable with obscuring the truth and, in particular, violating the legitimate boundaries of others.

@The Court of the Edijester my mother was left in the general ward and allowed to die there, this was twenty years ago, not long after I had an argument with the ward sister who phoned me at work to tell me to order my mum to allow a man in woman face give her a full body wash. Instead I went in first thing washed her and gave her breakfast before going to work - this was 20 years ago! I'm still angry about it!
Now I'm rapidly coming to the age where I may need help etc. and damn determined never to spend any longer than a day, in there! To me hospitals etc. are no longer safe! Take care 💕"

Yesterday I had my second unilateral mastectomy, and after my arrival on the women’s ward, the man in the bed opposite had to stay with the curtains drawn around him. Not the special treatment he might have wished for, no view of the window, and no view of women with dressings and drains with the need of privacy. It’s a start.
