For the benefit of a handful of people I have made a video of this channel's top 100 shoegaze/dreampop albums of 2023. This is only the channel's personal preferences and not by any means the general consensus of the best albums of the year.

This is likely to be taken down soon by copyright issues, so enjoy it while it lasts. It will only be re-uploaded a few times before it is scrapped.

Please note that there are traces of dreampop, psych, post rock, post punk and all sorts...please don't feel the need to point this out. These are the top shoegaze and dreampop albums of 2023.

There are noticeable omissions because the criteria was that each album had to be longer than 30 minutes and no live or 'best of' albums. Although there are a couple of compilation albums.

If anyone should see this and feel something obvious was missed, please comment...there was a bit of whittling and some interesting albums had to be left out.

Some notes on selection :

1. The honourable mention is an album that isn't quite an album as, without the bonus tracks, it wouldn't be long enough

2. Reissue of the year would have to be Some Gorgeous Accident's "The Lovers of their Opposites"

3. Black Heart Death Cult released an EP that is nearly an album and is excellent and nearly made it

4. Compilation of the year has to be the complete Chapterhouse reissue.
