A good candidate for the AH-Fix-It cleaning method: pressure washer!

Just go with the Black! It's not going into a museum after all!

Black is fine, Tony. Go for it.

Hi Tony, I’d go with black for the cover. Rather than the chicken train, the Swedish chef from muppet show comes to my mind, tossing the chicken in the basket.

Black cover seems really nice, even without the chickens 😆

What made the chicken cross the road ? ...........The Sansui stank the house out.

lol vacuums after messing with it for a while. Funny man! I wouldn't have touched that thing without blowing it out completely.

If I couldn’t match the original color, I’d just clean it up and leave the finish alone

On my AU717 and TU 717 I had the covers repainted at a body shop. They matched the original color pretty close. Even clear coated them, looks great! About as close to original as I could get.

My vote is to just make the panels back. As for the mess and the phone, I have a friend who is a bee keeper and he carries his phone in a zip lock bag that just fits it. That and some nitrile gloves and you'd be all set. Loved the jab on the non-oxygen free wires.

I agree with you and leave it original. Maybe lightly sand clean and lacquer it and have it’s scars covered and shiny but still visible, maybe. Enjoying the journey as usual so far. Thank you 😊

Before you even played it I was thinking of the Ozark mountain daredevils from the title of the video. Love the song 'Jackie Blue'

Still have my Sansui CA-2000, BA-2000 & TU-9900 that I bought at the PX on Guam in 1978. In fact, I'm listening to it now - just put on Jackie Blue on in honor of you. I'm glad you are doing this series - I'm learning what stuff I may have to be doing in the future. Thank you sooooo much for walking through everything and doing these videos

I think black is the new black. Just don't go pastel black. LOL I'll bet that amp smells. Back in the 60s when I was a kid we raised chickens and I had to shovel the chicken coop. Bad memories. I love the Ozark Mountain Daredevils!

Well, Tony...just think of the amazing before/after picture at the end!

Looking forward to seeing this series; I have a soft spot for this particular line of Sansui gear. You might ask your powdercoat person to compare "Argent Silver" to the original color, might be real close; darker, but close. Thank you for your time Tony!
