What a lovely video! Ended up drawing and painting while watching and that was so pleasant. This style of video reminds me of just hanging out "cleaning" a room and finding cool things you forgot about and having the actual cleaning process take way too long because its fun to discover lost things hahah

I started in acrylics, reluctantly but then happily used oils, got a master’s degree in art, an THEN got bit by the watercolor obsession, learning pigments, properties, lightfastness, best limited palettes for travel etc etc. I feel like a big earnest watercolor obsession can really up your art, painting and color mixing game huge amounts! I recommend it to everyone.

This was SUCH a fabulous and inspiring watch from start to finish. It was such a roller coaster ride to see your art practice develop and thrive, and really reassuring for me to see that not every artist has it all figured out. I love how you use your sketchbooks and experiment grounds, and how you aren't afraid to try new things and mediums, tear them up, and even abandon them when they don't suit you - I muscle through every sketchbook, and I think it really is to my detriment. Thank you for the reminder of what art is all about - and for reminding me to archive! I just moved and have big boxes of sketchbooks. I think it's high time I went through them.

I have never seen your videos before. This was cool. It was such a good idea the young you had putting in doodle scraps and notes. Your growth and experimenting was fun and inspiring. I keep all my old sketchbooks I wish I had been better about dates. But I can kinda date them because my pharmacy school notes filter into some. But it is fun history.

I number and date the spine of my sketchbook when I start it. Most of my sketchbooks last 2 or 4 months (Currently on number 33) I usually do a page/spread a day and also do some writing on the page about what I did that day, date it and so it also acts as a diary log. I put an index in the front of the sketchbook (good for first page jitters) with the date and what I sketched on that day to make it easier to locate previous sketches. By making daily pages I can be more consistent in my practice, but there are no rules to what, how or from what I sketch or play with.

was crocheting while I watched this hehe. I have a horrible problem of not finishing notebooks except my sketchbooks, for me it's just excepting the fact that im not always gonna create work I like but the more I try the more possible it becomes. Though I also dont have 77 sketchbooks so I guess I'll check back when I get there.

Hi, I wanted to tell you that this is the first video I've seen of yours and I like it a lot, I loved watching your blunt art notebooks with very nice paintings and drawings, it's a very comfortable video format to watch while having a coffee, your art is very inspiring and possibly I'll watch more of your videos later C: I hope you have a nice day/night! greetings from Chile, latam ^^

Hi, i date each sketch, on each page, and make a note of thoughts or anything relevant at bottom of each page, i have a 88page sketch book that i make at least a sketch and journal everyday, its a habit now, finally. I still have some of early sketches larger book, but wow i have developed over the years, i call my sketch book my art journal, i carry it everywhere, my other larger ones are for planned works, but these smaller ones are 110gsm, will hold a nice wash, as well, i love the now, good on you, going down memory lane brings back so many memories, lol, i wish i could draw people, life like, good on you, i really enjoy watching and sketching at the same time very inspirational, as well as great ideas thanks!
I love the way you have joined sections to your pages to, something I’m going to have a go at, have you tried using tissue paper to add texture, i was quite amazed at the finish,

This was one of THE MOST inspiring sketchbook videos I've ever watched. I even went out to the store at midnight and bought a new sketchbook BECAUSE of this video. I am so inspired to make art that I WANT TO SEE for MYSELF, and like... just do that forever. I know - what's the point of making stuff if it's not what you want to see/make, but I've caught the algor*thm disease where I make what I think will look nice/perform well on my feed, so TIME TO STOP DOING THAT! And time to have an absolute blast filling up HOPEFULLY, eventually, 77 sketchbooks of my own : ) Thank you so much for sharing your work. What an absolute gem you are. xo
