Who remembers when Kuerten beat Sampras and Agassi on the same tournament and became number 1 in the world? Monster!

For me, that was the golden era of tennis. Legends like Sampras, Agassi, Courier, Becker, Chang, Muster, Kuerten, Hewitt, Rafter, Kafelnikov, Safin, Rios, Moya, Roddick and Federer (at his begining).... a countless number of stars playing at the same era. When you see a Kuerten`s game like these you realize what his early depart meant to tennis. We all miss you GuGa !!

Absolute legend in Brazil, we all love and appreciate what Guga has accomplished in his career. Que coração, que lutador, como jogava tĂȘnis. E essa esquerdinha dele... Absurda! Eterno Guga!

I love this. There's something so elegant and graceful about this generation game. A good mix of power, finesse, it is so exciting to watch. Not just all ball-bashing. And Kuerten's backhand is absurd! :D

Guga! I used to love Kuerten's game...and his crazy hair. I was beyond bummed out about his hip injury. It sucked when his career was cut short by it. I always forget how tall he was because he was so damned skinny. And his SHB was insane. It was especially effective on clay so it would have been interesting to see him play Nadal at RG.

At this point Kuerten was only 26 years old, and was already playing with a terrible hip and bad movement. After 1-2 years he was virtually a retired player because of his injuries. You can say whatever you want. for me he was one of the best players to ever touch a racquet. Also he was a man with a great heart.

Beautiful game beautiful guy. Guga was rapidly improving his hardcourt game when injuries started taking their toll. Really was a big loss to the game to not see what he could have gone on to achieve.

I was a kid when Kuerten was at his peak, but I remember well that when he had his backhand calibrated, it was difficult for anyone to beat him... one of the best backhands in tennis, by the way

I started to play tenis while Guga was on the top, he was (and still is) a legend and so inspirational for us in Brazil. I really love Federer's game and legacy but it's impressive remember good moments of Guga. He was giant and I am sure Federer and other current players learned something from him!!!

It’s so awesome that Fed played so many legends from 90s generation.

Guga was just 26 here.... injuries killed his game just when he was beggining to dominate hard courts. We could have amazing battles betwen him and Nadal on clay (man, I would pay to see these guys in Roland Garros) and he would make Federe's life much harder than it was, at least for 4 or 5 years. (And yes, the best and most beautiful backhand ever, his shots were just "impossible")
