Hi Eric, thank you so much for these videos! Love them.
Are you familiar with the philosopher Tim Freke?
He has a really good book called Soul Story on his philosophy which he calls evolutionary spirituality, and he's getting ready to release the next descriptive expression of the philosophy in a pod book.

'True' or 'truthful' can cover notions such as authenticity and sincerity - bring on Lionel Trilling. Did he realise that Leavis was actually an existentialist thinker, in just so many ways? I can't recall. There is an existentialist strand in UK literature that runs through E Bronte, Dickens, G Eliot, Hardy and Lawrence, to mention only four or five English writers. Though Bronte was of Irish descent. It's less obvious than in German philosophy, but it's there none the less, as a counter-balance to philosophical empiricism and logical positivism.

"some truths have to be experienced before they can count as a truth in your life at all". In combination with the jazz question (example), very good. A point of truth with clarity that can be acted on in a person's life. Real life participation decisions can be made from this knowledge.
