Overall a decent Ken run on the hardest difficulty. Guile fight was quite average. The run could be improved by about 10-20 seconds, but I didn't want to spend more time on it. I will do the run again if anybody beats this time. My goal was to get a sub 8 time.

I remember about 30 years ago, spending about 2 months daily playing Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the SNES to beat the game on the hardest difficulty with Ryu without losing a round - all it said at the end was “You have Mastered Ryu!” For you to do this so effortlessly, it seemed, is truly amazing! 🙏🏾

Some 30 years ago at a friend's house (who had a snes), we pulled an all-nighter to beat the game in the hardest difficulty. You did it much faster than me. Congrats!

Congrats on the WR. This is probably my favorite version of street fighter 2. Something about it just hits different. I love the sound effects on the fierce hits.

Q: Why is the game running so fast? A: This is how it runs on MAME and only MAME is accepted on speedrun.com/ Q: Why are some names different? M.Bison is Vega, etc... ? Why am I speedrunning the Japanese version? A: This is the original Japanese version and these are the original names the game was designed with. Detailed explanation available on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M._Bison - check the paragraph "Conception and development". A: The cutscene between fights happens faster on the Japanese version and the speedruns can be 15-20 seconds faster than the US version.
