If you like modes, and you like leads, you should enjoy this video. It teaches a bit on how to compose in each mode, and some advice on how to write leads in each of the parallel modes of major.

It took me a full month to pull this off. I'm gonna do my best for the next few months to tone down the work load on these video and try to make some more lessons that don't take so much time.

I've also posted lots of juicy extras for my Patreon subscribers to reward their infinite patience, including the full mp3 of the song, as well as a version with no leads so you can try it out for yourself. Also the tabs/pdf for the Major solo, and a pdf/music chart for the entire jams rhythm track.

For all you freaks out there, I'm sorry the Locrian section is so short!

The drumcam during the Phrygian part was hilarious...That's definitely trance vibes, lol

It's always cool when people collaborate on projects like this.  As a drummer myself, what stood out to me about BeardStank was not just his ability to switch styles fluidly, but his economy of motion. His arms only move when and where they need to. That's good. Flailing arms may look more dynamic, but it wears you out faster, and can really slow you down. Well done BeardStank! Well done, all!

Always look forward to your videos. This one was a lot of fun and it fits perfectly with my current study of modes. Something I've never seen before. Thanks Jake and thanks also to all the other musicians involved for putting this together for us.

Very Cool! Really got into every mode and didn't want it to change....until it did. Even got a dose of Aimee. A great way to start my Saturday morning. Kudos to all the great musicians.

Having big fun with the handy poster. It's quite stunning just how much opening up to modes frees creativity while still maintaining musical sense. I appreciate you for making it.

I'm sure this has already been mentioned before, but Ben Levin did this same concept a few months ago. His was a backing track to help people change their soloing over modal changes, but it still featured a song using all 7 modes. I love seeing more videos on this idea. Modes are the best.

I liked the transition from Mixolydian to Aeolian best. Did not expect the super rainbow tie dye to blend so well with minor salsa! Great video, great fun!! Thanks to all who performed!
