Ok but Gracie, I was on the subway and this song came on, and I was staring out the window at the lights and it was getting dark...and I saw a scene I didn't know I'd never seen before. It was this deep heavy darkness, like two thousand feet deep into a plain where the stars are so far away. The piano and sad human existence in the words "I am lost", just omg, I never felt this aesthetic before!
Awesome pathos, I'm obsessed.

Learned the hard way to forget my body // til Iām walking around like a zombie // still donāt know how to talk through that story
This had such a profound impact on me. She put into words what I couldnāt say while still being very implicit. The way I interpret these lines is that sheās talking about learning to āforget aboutā her body, possibly to let go of the critical eye with which she views it. The āhard wayā is feeling like a zombie from undereating, over exerting with workouts, or whatever it might be for you. And the last line, I donāt even need to talk about. Talking through that story is one of the most difficult things.
Love always

[Verse 1]
Feel like maybe I might go to Boston
Cut my hair in the way that I've wanted
Change my number and bury my wallet
California makes me exhausted
[Chorus]
I'm lost
I'm lost
[Verse 2]
I heard the poem about mid-October
How the leaves in the Fall feel like closure
About a girl that the guy wasn't over
Think that I might relate when I'm older
[Chorus]
I'm lost
I'm lost
I'm lost
I'm lost
[Verse 3]
Tough, I don't know a lot that could hurt me
Learned the hard way to forget my body
'Til you're walkin' around like a zombie
Still don't know how to talk through that story
[Chorus]
I'm lost
I'm lost
I'm lost
I'm lost

Truly one of your most powerful songs Gracie.. just so mystically melancholic. Brings you to feel endless emotions, both cathartic and nostalgic. Heavy yet blissful. So utterly beautiful in sound and in words, thank you for this true gem of a melody in every single way. Will always be one of my utmost favorites by you š¤š«
