SYML's voice just makes me melt. I think it's rare these days to actually feel something when listening to music, and this song does just that for me, so I'm glad to be sharing it with you. What does it make you feel?
Also SYML wrote "Girl" for his daughter earlier this year when they found out she needed intensive surgery, so be praying for his daughter as well. Love yall <3

Girl, perfectly her, broken and hurt
Soft and asleep in the morning gray
Shake off the night and don't hide your face
The sun lights the world with a single flame
I want you to see this
I want you to see this
[Verse 2]
Today and all of your days, I'll wear your pain
Heal what I can in your troubled mind
Sometimes our bodies will hurt for some time
And the beauty in that can be hard to find
I want you to find it
[Chorus]
I want you to see this
I want you to see this
[Verse 3]
So run, wake up and run, my little one
I wanna tear down these walls that can't hold you inside
And rip out the cords and uncover your eyes
We'll make our escape in the dark of night
I need you to see this

This song has calming vibes, just lying in bed at 3 in the morning, with prairie lights stringed across the ceiling, but then you listen to the lyrics, and I feel the emotions that are meant to be portrayed. There's so many storylines that flood my mind when listening to this song, which is awesome. But one storyline that I can imagine while hearing this song is this:
A girl wakes up in a New York loft, she rubs her eyes and stares at the ceiling, then rolls over, as to hug her partner, but he isn't there. It's the first night without him. She gets out of bed, with her morning routine (washes face, brushes teeth, sets coffee maker, eats toast alone at her kitchen table). She wears puts on her delicate wedding band and dresses to go to class (at college). The day goes by and her facial expression is stonelike, as she's sad to be alone again, knowing her love won't be home when she gets home. Now the screen is a side by side clip of her husband at some airport, while she's still going through her school and other mundane things, with a sad a lonely expression. The split screen continues, and her young husband is traveling to his childhood home, where his father is ill and needs someone to take care of him. A nurse greets him and explains his condition and the care plan, and she leaves the son and father alone. The girl looks at old pictures of her and her father and stops on the last picture they ever took together. You learn her father has died not too long ago, and that he was her world. You get the feeling that she doesn't like being alone and that she fears losing her loved ones, the way she lost father. Clips flashback to one screen when they learn of the husband's father's diagnosis and the need for him go back home to take of him, and the girl is reluctant, but understands he needs to see his father, as she understands the feeling of a deteriorating condition. Because they are a young married couple, and she still has to finish her schooling and can't leave, she agrees for her husband to stay with his dad, and she will come visit after the semester ends. The flashback ends, picking up a couple days later, where the husband writes love notes back to the girl, telling her to remain strong because he knows how she gets when she's alone, while the split screen shows the girl watching movies alone on her couch, wrapped in a blanket. The split screen continues but speeds up through weeks, and picks up 4 weeks later, and they are both talking to each other on the phone, and that the husband is coming home soon. The scene goes dark and the split screen continues to the next day where the husband is on the plane that will soon land in NYC, and the girl wakes up and gets ready, so she can pick up her husband from the airport. Split screen continues until they both see each other at the terminal, and the two are reunited and the split screen becomes one. So the vibe I get from the video is the husband reminds his wife to stay strong when she's alone, but also there are vibes dropped in of sayings her dad told her while she was growing up about staying strong and about falling in love (maybe a scene of her reading a note from her dying father), where the lyrics say "so run, wake up and run my little one....." and " you'll see the world.... that falling in love is a strange work of art....."
