You brought back a very "pleasant" memory from more than 50 years ago. Before we were married, my late wife and I went to visit my sister in Bayville. We took the LIRR from Jamaica to Oyster Bay. The only smoker on the train was an ancient car numbered 13. No a/c and the windows didn't open. But we needed the smoker bad. Since stopped smoking. Keep up the good work. Bob from Santa Barbara

Thank you so much for your continued effort you put into your videos. They are very much appreciated. I'm a former New Yorker living in Texas now and your videos let me see how much Long Island has changed over the years since I left in 1983. I would like to ask you a favor. Would you please shoot a front window cab view video from a C3 from Port Jefferson to Huntington like you did here. I/we your fans would be very grateful if you did. Thank you for considering this for me and your fans and keep up the great work.

Thanks!!! That was my favorite branch to run. Although I loved running GP-38's with power packs or MP-15's at the rear, the 'new" stuff was OK. That's the branch I broke in the 422 when new before it was put into regular service. The changes on the main line from Mineola to Floral Park was interesting. I plan to visit LI in the fall, looking forward to riding to Grand Central.

Love this video of one of my favorite branches. In Nassau County no less, no electrification for most of the line (and what little there is seems odd), a deer almost running across the tracks, an abandoned station at Mill Neck that is architecturally one of my favorites, and an air of Theodore Roosevelt a century after he died. Also the first LIRR branch not my home Port Jefferson line that I rode on my own at age 16. So thanks for posting. (Got one of Greenport to Ronkonkoma?)

2:01 West Shore Road overpass. There is a famous photo of Teddy Roosevelt operation a steam engine that was passing over the bridge. Photographer was on the road shooting up at TR in the cab.

22:02 Signal is 0253. Years ago it was not faded. Glen Head is my home station. Don’t recall what the one on the other side of Locust is. Either 0253 or 0252. Looked at it once and have since forgotten.
