β a short summary
After a fire broke out during a riot, Charlotte is mysteriously the only known survivor of the incident. Andrew and Charlotte's relationship was somewhat of a charming back and forth, the attraction that they felt for each other intensified over the years. Despite both trying their best to hold back their feelings for their own reasons, the things they felt for one another were hard to keep buried. A misunderstanding led Charlotte to believe that Andrew was interested in someone else and as a result, she started a relationship with Avan, which sent Andrew spiraling into a state of jealousy, and bitterness. Abel, concerned by the situation and the emotional wellbeing of his daughter, asked Andrew to stay away from her, arguing that she had already suffered too much pain in her past and that Avan was a good influence for her. Loaded with guilt, Andrew decides to honor Abel's wishes and tells Charlotte that he "can't see her anymore" when she seeks him out in distress after the funeral. He then decides to leave town.
After being away for two years, Andrew returns to the city.
