The great irony of this is that Jack wrote the LEGENDARY riff to Seven Nation Army, but his roommate didn't think it was any good. So, Jack tucked the riff away in case he ever got to do a Bond theme one day. Then The White Stripes released Seven Nation Army as a single from their fourth album, Elephant, and that album and that song launched them into superstardom. Five years later, Jack is asked to collaborate on an original Bond theme with Alicia Keys.

I fricking love this song, by itself and as a Bond theme. Can't believe all the hate for this from unadventurous people who just want the exact same thing every time - it's classic yet modern and Alicia Keys and Jack White together is such a raw, dirty sound which I love. I hope they read these comments because they did not get the credit they deserved for this brilliant piece at all.

From reddit "after writing the main riff of Seven Nation Army, Jack White planned to save it in case he was ever asked to write a James Bond theme. Deciding this was unlikely to happen, he recorded the song anyways. Five years later, he was asked to write the theme song for the Bond film Quantum of Solace."

Horribly underrated song. I have no idea why people don't love this.
