One thing about me that few people know is that I lived on the streets when I was a teenager, before I turned 18. The looks you get from strangers and people who think that you're beneath them compounds the embarrassment of being homeless. Until you've slept outside under an abandoned bus or in a bando, you can't possibly imagine how good it feels to have someone just treat you with even the smallest amount of kindness. For that brief period you don't feel so empty or worthless and it helps you grasp onto a little bit of hope. Those people will talk about that for days to come and feel happy that someone cared. For those of you that are new and don't know, Edmond does this often. Whether it's creating a toy drive for children or collecting much needed necessities for those who lost their homes to the recent wildfires, he is very active in helping the community. This isn't a one time thing and there will be many more, a lot of them you might not even hear about. Follow his Instagram and follow Avant Garde Xotics to keep up with future fundraisers so you can get involved. If everyone chipped in just a little bit, imagine the impact it would have for those in need. I promise that the happiness you help create lingers long after the fact.
