My daughter's dad passed away yesterday. We went our separate ways but we always got along really well. We helped each other out if one was ever in need. We both have battled addiction but I was able to pull away from meth, but he wasn't. He never knew when to quit. He was a good person but like many of us, he had his demons. The meth had changed him. He began to lose touch with reality. He would be so afraid and paranoid that people would get him. I hate it so much that he died afraid. π

I heard this song on a country radio station recently for the very first time and it definitely struck a familiar chord with me. My husband lost his battle with mental illness and addiction two years ago this month. I miss him move than words can say. He would have liked this song a lot and def cranked it up loud and sang along to it every time it came on.
