Sculptor Poppy Field reveals what it's like to make sculptures of the Royals | FULL INTERVIEW

After commission competition lasting more than a year, British artist Poppy Field was chosen to create sculptures of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh to be on permanent display at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Here, she speaks to the Palace Confidential team about the challenge of recreating two important figures, some of the secret features that visitors won't see and her desire to represent the pair's 'love story' in her works.

This was so interesting to learn all the detail about these fabulous sculptures of our dear late Queen and Prince Philip. It was fascinating to hear her thought process about the chosen stance for each figure and the creative process. I will view these sculptures with much more interest now. What a talented lady, this Poppy!

Poppy has done an absolutely fantastic job with these statues. 😀 Her incredible artistry has produced what I'm sure will become a historic landmark of the future. They certainly make me emotional with all the memories they evoke. 😢

The Sculptures are so lifelike and beautiful. I really appreciate hearing the Sculptor's thought process in the creation of both Sculptures. I think she really captured the essence of both Prnce Phillip and Queen Elizabeth and their remarkable relationship. I would love to own miniature versions of both Sculptures. The Daily Mail/Palace Confidential is my favorite news source, to keep up with the British Royal Family. Thank you, sending best wishes from across the Pond, in NYC. 👑

Thank you for sharing the insight and symbolism behind the creation process. Beautiful sculptures and caught the familiar characteristic poses especially of Prince Philip.

Adding this to my bucket list of things that I need to see while I am alive! So my mom and dad owned a ceramic shop and yes, you poured a mold and brought a piece out of clay but you had to handle it so gently or it could crumble in your hands so I can only imagine the work and the artistic background that she has how much it was put to work into test I hope one day soon I get to see them both absolutely magnificent❤❤
